United Way Opens Applications for Community Investment Grants April 1 | News, Sports, Jobs
NEW ULM – United Way of Brown County Area will open its annual Community Investment Grants for proposals on April 1.
Each year, United Way uses funds donated to our giving campaign to provide grant dollars to Brown County nonprofit organizations in the health and human service sectors. United Way’s service area includes New Ulm, Hanska, Searles, Evan, Sleepy Eye, Springfield, Comfrey, Essig, Levenworth and Cobden. Its grants focus on nonprofit organizations that assist and provide resources to Brown County residents in the following impact areas:
· Health – Promoting healthy physical and mental well-being and creating access to activities and tools that encourage healthy lifestyles.
· Education – Helping Brown County residents of all ages reach their full potential.
· Financial Sustainability – Promote the sustainability of individual and family incomes and basic human needs.
Eligible applicants must be an incorporated 501c3 nonprofit charitable organization, government unit, or educational organization. Religious and unincorporated organizations can apply if they have a tax host.
Applicants must provide services based on need, be non-discriminatory, be governed by an active policy development council, have a strong financial budget for their proposed program or project, and have a local chapter or program that serves residents of Brown County.
United Way encourages applications from new and established organizations that address a local or unique need not currently being met in Brown County. The United Way Board and staff believe that by uplifting and helping those most in need in its service area, it can improve the lives of every person in Brown County.
