The vocal duo will perform “A Night of Song” at the Baker Community Center on October 15

Enjoy the artistry and passion of two of the Chicago area’s favorite singers – Jeorge Holmes and Marisa Buchheit – on Saturday, October 15 at the historic Baker Community Center in downtown St. Charles. The performance, featuring a variety of songs from Broadway to opera and other popular categories, marks the return of the “Saturday Night Lights” concert series produced by the Norris Cultural Arts Center. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Community Center, 101 S. Second St. (Route. 31).

Baritone/tenor Jeorge Holmes enjoys entertaining and inspiring his audience with his personality and vocal performance. A singer in demand, Holmes performs a vast repertoire of songs from Elvis to Pavarotti, Blues to Broadway, Pop to Opera, Christian Gospel to Big Band, and everything in between.

Marisa Buchheit, who represented her state at Miss America as Miss Illinois 2014, is a soprano who has performed in critically acclaimed productions around the world in operas, concerts and musicals. Recent highlights include the title role in the US premiere of “The Flower of Hawaii” with Folks Operetta, her debut as Queen of the Night in Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” with the Southern Illinois Music Festival, solo performances with the Elgin and Peoria Symphony Orchestra. orchestras, as well as performances of the national anthem for the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bulls, City Club of Chicago and the Chicago Air & Water Show. She interpreted the roles of Susanna in “Le Nozze di Figaro”, of Zerlina in “Don Giovanni”, of the understudy of Page/Gilda in “Rigoletto”, of Venus in “L’Incoronazione di Poppea”, of Julie in ” Carousel”, by Maria in “West Side Story” and Liesl in “The Sound of Music”, with companies such as Wichita Grand Opera, Tuscia Opera Festival in Italy, American Chamber Opera, DePaul Opera Theater and CIM Opera Theatre.

Buchheit earned her MA in Opera with Honors from DePaul University and her BA with Academic Honors and Minor in German from the Cleveland Institute of Music. She is co-founder of the soprano trio “Très Belle” and is musical director of the Concordia Lutheran Church.
