Stettler County Community Investment Program Doubles Applications in Second Admission – Stettler Independent
The Stettler County Community Investment Program saw an increase in applications during its second admissions window.
For the second promotion, seven applications were received compared to only three for the first.
With a budget of $15,000 per year, the program was created with two “windows” during the year for community organizations to apply for funding from the county.
The deadline for first admission to the program was December 31, 2021 and submitted applications were discussed at the January 2022 board meeting. The first window covers events taking place in the first half of the year and funding of $5,000 was divided among the three applicant groups.
In the second intake, which had a May 31 deadline for second semester events, all seven applicants were discussed at the June 8 board meeting and the remaining $10,000 was awarded.
Stettler’s Pheasant Festival received $2,000, East Bound and Down Poker Rally received $2,500, Endmoor minor ball received $1,000, Donalda and District Museum received $2,500, Canadian Gelbvieh Association received $500 $ for his junior show and the Big Valley Bust-Out Rodeo received $1,500.
A seventh application was denied because the organization had already received funding for the first application earlier in the year.
The next intake for the community investment program will be in the fall with a deadline of December 31.
