Members Wanted for New Community Investment Program Advisory Board
(Fort McMurray, AB – March 31, 2022) – The municipality is looking for knowledgeable members of the community to join a new advisory committee that will review the municipality’s community investment program.
The RMWB is seeking nine voting community members for the committee, including one Aboriginal representative, one oil sands industry representative, one corporate representative, one external funding representative, two general public representatives and three of social purpose organizations. The new committee will also have three non-voting members, ie two members of the Board and the General Manager (or his delegate).
The committee will review and recommend changes to the community investment program to increase efficiency, address duplicate services, clarify eligibility criteria, and establish grant deliverables. Its mandate will include advising on the committee’s future role in reviewing grant applications, alignment with council policies, the municipal development plan and other council strategic priorities.
In addition, community members are sought for positions on the Communities in Bloom Committee, Public Art Committee, and Wood Buffalo Downtown Revitalization Advisory Committee.
