Fisher House Foundation Announces President’s Award for Military Community Service
Recipients of the Newman’s Own Award have included many key players in the nonprofit military community such as Blue Star Families, Inc; Hope for warriors; Semper Fi Marine Wounded Fund; the Tragedy and Assistance to Survivors Program; and much more. The Fisher House Foundation anticipates that future recipients of the President’s Award will continue this great tradition of recognizing excellence in service to our greatest national treasure, our military, our veterans and their loved ones.
As part of the prize package, the President’s Award recipients will each receive a publicity package worth $30,000 from MilitaryTimes.
The name “Chairman’s Award” is a nod to the former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Award for Excellence in Military Medicine, launched by the late founder of the Fisher House Foundation, Zachary Fisher.
President’s Award recipients will be chosen by a diverse and esteemed jury of individuals who combine their knowledge to recognize programs that meet the dynamic needs of military and veteran communities. Additionally, spouses of top military leaders have traditionally helped judge bids since the early 2000s, beginning with Ms. Mary Jo Myers and Mrs. Lynne Pace and more recently Mrs. Kelly Hokanson and Mrs. Mollie Raymond; The Fisher House Foundation plans to continue this long-standing practice.
Nominations for the 2022 President’s Award are open February 28 and close April 28. Information on the application process, as well as the 2021 Newman’s Own Awards ceremony and a list of previous winners, is available at https://fisherhouse.org/chairmans-award.
