$700,000 in Community Gaming Grants for Charities and Service Groups in Chilliwack, Agassiz – Chilliwack Progress

Charities and community service groups in Chilliwack and Agassiz have received more than $700,000 through community play grants aimed at improving health, wellness and accessibility.

“We have faced many challenges over the past few years, and organizations that provide human and social services have been there for us every step of the way,” said Dan Coulter, MPP for Chilliwack. “Investments like this are one way our government is helping vital organizations like Chilliwack Community Services continue to deliver incredible results for people in our communities.

A total of 19 area organizations received over $700,000 in funding this year through the Social and Human Services component of the Community Play Grants.

“From Chilliwack Hospice to Agassiz-Harrison Community Services, each of the organizations that receive this funding is vital to our communities,” said Kelli Paddon, Member of Parliament for Chilliwack Kent. “I am so grateful to everyone who is making sure people in our communities get the care they need, from volunteers to employees to those in government who provide this funding, thank you. »

This year, the New Democrat government is on hand to distribute more than $61 million in grants to 1,364 social and human service organizations in British Columbia. This funding supports food banks, children and youth programs, mental health and other services that improve health and well-being.
